2007 Eisteddfod Competitions

*The Crown Competition - PROSE

Write not more than 200 words on one of the following - in Welsh or English

  1. Tai Haf - Summer Homes

*The Chair Competition - POEM

Strict meter or free verse - in Welsho or English

  1. Y Senedd - The Assembly

Complete the Following Limerick:

    In Welsh: “Aeth merch fach o ardal Wisconsin”  or
    In English “There was a young girl from Wisconsin”

A letter from a soldier in the Civil War, either side, to his Welsh girlfriend in Carmarthen.  (Something similar to the words of the song “Galveston” possibly.)

An ode to the leek, Caws Pobi (Baked Cheese) or Pice Ma’n (Welsh Cakes).  Prizes for humor.

New words Welsh or English to the hymn “Calon Lan”

NOTE:  We would like the competitions to reflect our Welsh culture - so they should be in Welsh (or English), by someone Welsh or about Wales.
